The Camden Brasserie was created 25 years ago by Uruguayan born chef Julio Turano & law school student and waitress Karen Doherty.
With the help of Julio¡¯s brother, Enrique, and Karen¡¯s brother Ross, they created a family run French style brasserie, open all day on Camden High Street and assisted by General Manager Shy Mehta.
In 2000 the two brothers relocated the restaurant to Jamestown Rd and then, more recently, returned home to Punta del Este.
Still a family business with Karen, her husband Paul and General Manager Shy, the Camden Brasserie is now settled in its new contemporary location, discretely nested off the high street and still central to the ever-popular Camden Market.
Since 1983 this favoured haunt of locals, celebrities and politicians still has the same approach it
became renowned for - great quality meat & fish served with our famous pomme frites & local
seasonal specials.
